Other emirates # Notary public in Ajman and the northern emirates A notary public in Ajman is reached through the Ajman courts, and the same pattern holds in Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah: each emirate's courts publish their notary offices, services and timings. This page takes the four northern emirates one at a time and tells you what to check on the official source before you go. Notary Services in Dubai has a single office, in Business Bay, Dubai, and none in the northern emirates. We prepare documents for people who sign there, and we point out when a Dubai signing would serve them better. * Each northern emirate publishes its own notary locations and hours. Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah follow the federal judicial system, so notary work there sits with the Ministry of Justice; Ras Al Khaimah keeps its own judicial department, RAK Courts. * The federal notary law, Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2022, applies across the State except where a local judicial authority runs notary work under its own legislation. * Where the federal system applies, fees follow Cabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024: for example AED 100 per party for a power of attorney. * Private notaries exist under federal law. Whether one works in your emirate should be checked on the official register. * Every signer attends in person, or through an approved remote channel. ## Ajman Whether you need the Ajman court notary public, its location and timing, or the notary public and attestation department, the first step is the same: find the notary service on the official Ajman courts website, then read the office address, the service list and the hours there. The phrase "notary public and attestation department" suggests that one department handles both notarisation and a form of attestation in Ajman. Do not confuse that local attestation with MOFAIC attestation, which a document needs before it is used abroad or comes in from abroad. Hours change, so check the notary office Ajman hours on the official page on the day, including any Friday or Ramadan hours. ## Umm Al Quwain Many Umm Al Quwain residents work in Ajman, Sharjah or Dubai. That gives a real choice of where to sign. If the document is for an Umm Al Quwain authority, sign there; otherwise the notary nearest your work may be easier. ## Ras Al Khaimah Check the Ras Al Khaimah courts' notary service page for the office location, services and hours. Is there a private notary in Ras Al Khaimah? Under the federal decree-law, what makes someone a private notary is having their name on the register that the competent department keeps. So look in that register, not in an online directory. If Ras Al Khaimah runs its courts under local legislation, its rules on private notaries may differ. ## Fujairah Fujairah sits on the east coast, a long drive from the other northern emirates. For Fujairah residents, the local notary office is usually the practical choice for any document used in Fujairah. ## Signing in one emirate, using the document in another Families in the north often have one parent in Ajman and the other in Dubai, or a flat in Ras Al Khaimah and a job in Sharjah.
