# Notary public for Dubai Downtown, Dubai Mall and Sheikh Zayed Road

## Is there a notary public in Dubai Mall?

The archived Dubai Courts list does not show a notary centre inside Dubai Mall. Private notary offices also work in the towers around it. The quicker path is to check the live Dubai Courts list for a centre, or ask us to book the nearest private notary that takes your document.

## Onshore Dubai or DIFC?

Many offices around Downtown and along Sheikh Zayed Road sit inside the DIFC, and people who work there sometimes assume the DIFC notary is "their" notary for everything. It is not.

* **The DIFC Courts notary** handles DIFC matters: it takes oaths and affirmations, witnesses affidavits and declarations, and certifies copies. Its own page warns that other authorities decide for themselves whether to accept its work.
* **The onshore notary** (Dubai Courts or a private notary) is the route for onshore matters, such as a power of attorney for a Dubai property, a vehicle or a mainland company.

## Sheikh Zayed Road offices

The stretch of Sheikh Zayed Road between the Trade Centre and Downtown is lined with offices, and many notary requests come from there. Most of these requests are corporate: a power of attorney for a manager, a board resolution, signature authentication for a company signatory. The notary will want the trade licence and proof that the signatory can sign for the company. ## Downtown residents

Many Downtown flats belong to owners who are not always in the country. For them, two requests come up again and again:
