Why people are turned away at the counter
These are the problems we see most often when people go to a notary office without help.
- No original ID. A photo on your phone is not enough.
- An English only document. The notary works in Arabic. Without a legal translation, the appointment stops.
- The wrong person comes to sign. If you are giving a power of attorney, you must attend.
- The wrong office. A DIFC matter goes to the DIFC Courts notary, and an onshore Dubai matter does not.
- Expecting an apostille. The UAE is not a party to the Apostille Convention, so papers move through attestation.
- A laminated original. MOFAIC will not attest a laminated document.

What you can do at our Business Bay office
Most customers never need to visit us. You send a photo of the request you received by WhatsApp or email, we prepare the document for you to read, and then you sign before the notary, who checks your ID and applies the seal. If you prefer to hand over papers in person, you are welcome at our office on Marasi Drive.

Which notary office in Dubai should I use?
It depends on the document and the authority that will receive it. Most personal documents go to the Dubai Courts notary public or a private notary office on the Dubai Courts roll. Tell us what the document is for and we will name the right office.
Is there one main notary public office in Dubai?
No, there are several. Dubai Courts runs its notary service through a number of service centres, and private notary offices add more. Our Dubai Courts locations guide lists them with links to the official source.
Do I need an appointment?
Some offices take walk ins and others work by booking, and this changes. Check the official page for the office you plan to use. When we book for you, we confirm the time and what to bring.
Can I sign if I do not speak Arabic?
Yes. The document is prepared in Arabic, usually with an English version beside it, and the notary uses an interpreter from the Ministry of Justice register if you need one. You should always understand what you sign.
Do I have to visit your office?
No. Most customers work with us by WhatsApp, email and courier and only travel to the notary. You are welcome to visit us in Business Bay.
Can you prepare a document if I am outside the UAE?
Yes. We draft the document and tell you where to sign it where you are, either before a local notary with attestation afterwards, or at a UAE mission if it offers notarial services.
