Dubai Court Wafi Mall notary public: a visitor's guide
The notary public Wafi Mall visitors look for is a Dubai Courts service centre. What the Dubai Courts centre at Wafi Mall is
Dubai Courts delivers many of its services through service centres rather than only from its main building. Wafi Mall is one of them. You may hear it called Wafi court, the Wafi notary or the Dubai Courts Wafi Mall centre. They all mean this one Dubai Courts centre.
The notary who serves you there is a Dubai Courts notary, acting under Dubai Law No. 4 of 2013. The act has the same legal effect as one done at any other Dubai Courts point. What differs between centres is the list of services each one takes, the queue, and the hours.

The Dubai Courts service page covers one service in detail: the attestation of powers of attorney. The page describes it as attesting the signatures of the parties after checking their capacity and eligibility, by personal or virtual attendance. People also come to the Wafi Mall notary public for other notarial acts, such as:
- Powers of attorney for property, vehicles, companies, court cases and family matters.
- Affidavits and sworn declarations, for example a declaration of residency or an affidavit of support.
- Consent letters and NOCs that an embassy or airline wants notarised.

Finding the centre inside Wafi Mall
Wafi Mall is a large mall, and the Dubai Courts centre is one unit inside it. Use the mall's own directory or information desk to find it on the day. Leave extra time for parking and for the queue.
What to carry on the day
The notary must verify your identity from your ID card, passport or another official document issued by the State, so the original ID is not optional. Beyond that, bring what your document needs.
For any document:
- Your original Emirates ID, or your passport if you are visiting the UAE.
- The document in Arabic, or in Arabic and English side by side.
- The details of the other party: for a power of attorney, the agent's Emirates ID number, or a copy of their Emirates ID or passport.
For a power of attorney about property or a vehicle:
- The title deed for a property, or the vehicle ownership certificate for a car.
For a document issued outside the UAE:
- The original, attested by the foreign ministry of the issuing country, the UAE embassy there and MOFAIC in the UAE. The UAE does not use the apostille, so an apostille alone is not enough.
For a document in a language other than Arabic:
- A legal translation into Arabic by a translator approved by the UAE Ministry of Justice.

Legal translation before your Wafi Mall visit
Legal translation at Wafi Mall is worth sorting out before you go, because many people only learn at the counter that their document must be in Arabic. The Dubai Courts service conditions call for an Arabic legal translation approved by the UAE Ministry of Justice. Dubai's notary law also says a foreign-language document needs a certified Arabic translation, with both versions signed.
The simple way to avoid a second trip is to have the translation done before you go. Legal translation starts from AED 50 per page on our price list, and on the federal schedule the notary charges AED 50 per page to notarise a translation included in the instrument.
Translation is not the same as interpretation. If you do not speak Arabic, the notary can use an interpreter from the Ministry of Justice register to explain the document to you during the signing.

On the day, step by step
- Arrive with your ID, your document and the other signers, if any.
- Take a ticket or check in as the centre directs.
- At the counter, the notary checks identity and capacity, and reads the document out.
- You confirm you understand and agree, and sign in front of the notary.
- The notary seals and records the document.
- You pay the government fee and receive the notarised document.
Watch for
Why people are turned away at Wafi Mall
- The document is in English only, with no legal translation.
- The name in the document does not match the passport exactly.
- The agent's ID details are missing from a power of attorney.
- A foreign document has an apostille but not the UAE attestation chain.
- The person who must sign sends someone else.
- The centre does not take that document type on that day.
Each of these ends the visit. None of them is hard to fix beforehand.
