Notary public Dubai charges: what each kind of office charges, with sources
Notary public Dubai charges depend on which kind of office seals your document. The federal public notary charges from a fixed schedule, Cabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024: AED 100 per party for a power of attorney, for example. A Dubai private notary charges under a separate Dubai Courts decision. MOFAIC charges for attestation if the document travels. And if you use a service like ours to draft, translate and book, that is a separate price again.

- Federal public notary: fixed fees under Cabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024, in force from 16 March 2024. Power of attorney AED 100 per party, affidavit AED 300, signature authentication AED 200 per party.
- Private notary on the federal schedule: the same fees plus up to 30 percent as professional fees, so a power of attorney is AED 130 per party.
- Dubai private notary: fees under a Dubai Courts decision in force from 2 January 2026, reported as AED 100 per party for registration plus AED 100 per signature, and AED 1,000 per trip outside the office.
- MOFAIC attestation: AED 150 for a personal document, AED 2,000 for a commercial document.

Layer 1: the federal public notary schedule
Cabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024 sets what the public notary charges on the federal system. It was published in the UAE Official Gazette and came into force on 16 March 2024. These are the items people ask about most.

Two details catch people out. The cap for executing a high-value instrument is AED 15,000, but the cap for notarising one is AED 30,000. And "per party" means every person who signs pays: a power of attorney from two principals is two parties.

Case by case
Layer 2: private notaries
On the federal schedule
Article 2 of the same resolution lets a private notary charge the scheduled fee plus 30 percent of it as professional fees, except for items 16 and 17. So on the federal schedule:

In Dubai
Dubai sets its own private notary fees. Dubai Courts announced a decision regulating private notary fees, published in the Official Gazette of the Government of Dubai and in force from 2 January 2026. The figures reported for it are:
- AED 100 per party for registration of the transaction.
- AED 100 per signature.
- AED 1,000 per trip when the notary acts outside the place of work.
For any other act, ask the private notary office for its fee before you book.
Layer 3: the Dubai Courts Government notary
Dubai Courts charges its own fees for the Government notary public, separate from both tables above. Check the current fee for your document on dc.gov.ae before you go.

Layer 4: other emirates and consulates
Abu Dhabi and some other emirates run notary work through their own judicial authorities and publish their own fees. ADJD's service manual, for example, lists AED 100 for each year a power of attorney runs. Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain follow the federal judicial system, so the federal schedule applies there. Consulates set their fees under their own country's rules and change them often, so check your mission's website. Layer 5: attestation, if the document travels
A document used abroad usually needs MOFAIC attestation after the notary.

The difference is large, so check which list your document is on. MOFAIC lists a general power of attorney as a commercial document. Some destination countries also charge for their embassy's stamp.

A worked example
A father and mother in Dubai give their child's grandmother consent to travel with the child. Both parents sign one consent letter before a notary. On the federal schedule, signature authentication is AED 200 per party, so two parents pay AED 400 in government fees. Our drafting of the consent letter starts from AED 1,200. If the letter must go abroad with MOFAIC attestation as a personal document, add AED 150 for MOFAIC and our handling from AED 150. What will a notary charge me in Dubai?
It depends on the office and the document. On the federal schedule a power of attorney is AED 100 per party and an affidavit AED 300. A Dubai private notary charges under the Dubai Courts decision, reported as AED 100 per party plus AED 100 per signature. Our preparation is extra and priced separately.
What is the notary public service charge for a power of attorney?
On the federal schedule, AED 100 per party at a public notary, or AED 130 per party at a private notary. Dubai Courts and Dubai private notaries charge under their own rules, so confirm the fee with the office you use.
Are notary services free for anyone?
The federal resolution exempts federal and local government bodies from these fees, but not the companies they own. Private individuals pay the scheduled fees.
Why is your price higher than the government fee?
Because it is for different work. The government fee pays for the notarial act. Our price pays for drafting, translation, checking and courier, so your document is notarised at the first appointment.
Do you charge the government fee with a markup?
No. Government fees are paid at cost, exactly as the authority charges them, and shown separately from our price.
