Dubai Courts notary public locations and timings: where to go
Dubai court notary public locations are the service centres where Dubai Courts, the government notary for the emirate, takes notary work. An archived Dubai Courts service page lists centres at Wafi Mall, the Traffic Department in Al Barsha, Al Barsha Mall, Hatta Centre and Al Yalayis. This page explains each one, how to check the current timings, and what to do when you cannot attend in person.
Notary offices
One rule runs through all of it: the official source wins. Service centres open, move and change their hours, and no guide can promise today's timings. So every location below points you to the Dubai Courts website, and we ask you to check it on the day you plan to go.

- Dubai Courts is the Government notary public in Dubai, under Dubai Law No. 4 of 2013.
- The notary service runs through several service centres, not one building. The one most people know is at Wafi Mall.
- Private notary offices on the Dubai Courts roll are a second, lawful route for many of the same documents.
- Dubai Courts has offered virtual attendance as well as personal attendance for signature attestation on powers of attorney.

Two practical notes. First, a service centre can take some Dubai Courts services and not others, so a centre on this list may not take your exact document. Step by step
How to check Dubai Courts notary public timings
Arriving after the counter closes wastes a trip, so check the timings before you go. Here is how.

Open the Dubai Courts website at dc.gov.ae and find the service centres or contact section.

Look for the centre you want by name, for example Wafi Mall or Al Barsha Mall.

Read the working hours shown for that centre, and note any separate hours for Friday or for public holidays.

If the page gives a phone number or a chat option, use it to confirm on the day.
Hours change, and a wrong time sends people to a closed door, so check them on the day you go.
Friday, Saturday and public holidays
Many people ask about Dubai Court timing on Friday, or whether the notary public is open on Saturday. Government offices in Dubai set their own working week and hours, and these can change. Check the Friday and weekend hours for your centre on the Dubai Courts site. If you cannot attend during the week, a private notary office may offer different hours, and remote attendance may be possible for some documents.
What the Dubai Courts notary handles
The Dubai Courts service page covers one service in detail: the attestation of powers of attorney. That page describes it as attesting the parties' signatures after checking their capacity and eligibility. Other notarial acts, such as affidavits and signature authentication, are also done by notaries under the same Dubai law.

Arabic documents
Documents should be translated into Arabic by a legal translator approved by the UAE Ministry of Justice.

The agent's identity
For a power of attorney, you give the agent's Emirates ID details, or upload their Emirates ID or passport.

Documents from abroad
A document issued outside the UAE must first be certified by the foreign ministry of that country, the UAE embassy there and then MOFAIC in the UAE.

Subject documents
For a property power of attorney the title deed is needed; for a vehicle power of attorney the vehicle ownership certificate.

Private notary offices: the other official route
Dubai Law No. 4 of 2013 also created the private notary. A private notary is a natural person registered on a roll kept by Dubai Courts to carry out certain functions of the Government notary public. In practice this means a private notary office can often handle the same powers of attorney, affidavits and signature authentications, with appointment times that each office sets for itself. Which Government notary functions a private notary may carry out is set by resolution of the Dubai Courts Notary Public Affairs Committee (Article 20), and Article 21 bars every notary from some instruments, such as those on the family affairs of Muslims or endowments, and those creating or transferring rights in real property.
The notarial act has the same legal effect because it is done under the same law. The difference is the fee, the waiting time and the setting. Our page on what a private notary is compares the two routes side by side, and notary public charges sets out the fees for each.
If you cannot attend in person
Personal attendance is the default in notary law. The federal decree-law also lets a notary use IT tools for transactions without the person appearing in person, and gives an electronically notarised document the same evidentiary value.
In Dubai, the archived Dubai Courts page says signatures on a power of attorney can be attested through virtual or personal attendance. The Ministry of Justice runs its own E-Notary System at enotary.moj.gov.ae for the federal system. If you are looking for an e notary in Dubai, you usually mean one of these two, and they are different services run by different authorities.

What to bring to any Dubai Courts notary point
Before you go
- Your original Emirates ID, or your passport if you are a visitor.
- The document in Arabic, or in Arabic and English, with the legal translation if it started in another language.
- The Emirates ID or passport details of any other party, such as the agent in a power of attorney.
- The supporting document the act relies on, such as a title deed, a vehicle ownership certificate or a trade licence.
- For a document from abroad, the attested original with the MOFAIC stamp.

What are the Dubai Courts notary public timings?
Timings are set by Dubai Courts and can differ between centres and on Fridays and holidays. They change from time to time. Check the centre's page on dc.gov.ae before you travel.
Is the notary public open on Saturday?
It depends on the office. Check the weekend hours on the Dubai Courts site for your centre. Some private notary offices keep different hours, so ask them directly.
Can I go to any Dubai Courts centre for any document?
Not always. Some centres take only part of the Dubai Courts service list. Check the centre's services on the Dubai Courts site, or ask us and we will book the right one.
Is the Dubai Courts notary the same as the Ministry of Justice e-notary?
No. Dubai Courts runs notary services under Dubai's own law. The Ministry of Justice E-Notary System serves the federal system. They are separate services with separate rules.
