Notary public Sharjah location guide: finding the office and checking timings
To find a notary public Sharjah location, start from the official source for Sharjah's courts and notary services, and check the office's services and timings there before you travel. Sharjah is spread out: the city itself, the central towns such as Al Dhaid, and the east coast towns of Khor Fakkan and Kalba. So "the Sharjah notary" can mean quite different drives depending on where you live.
This guide explains how to find the right office, what to check, and when signing in Dubai is the simpler choice. Notary Services in Dubai has one office, in Business Bay, Dubai, and none in Sharjah; we prepare documents for people who sign in Sharjah, and our in-house notary public in Business Bay can notarise them when a Dubai signing suits.
- Sharjah follows the federal judicial system, so notary work there sits with the federal Ministry of Justice under Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2022.
- Official notary office locations and timings should be read on that authority's website.
- UAE federal law gives notarial duties to three groups only: public notaries, private notaries and the State's accredited consuls.
- The notary's instrument is in Arabic, so bring a legal translation for any other language.
- If the document is for a Dubai authority, signing in Dubai is often simpler, even for a Sharjah resident.
Step by step
Sharjah notary public office locations: how to find yours
Office lists and hours change, so this page gives you the method to find the right office on the official source.
- Find the official page Go to the website of the authority that runs Sharjah's courts and look for notary public services. Avoid directory sites, which often keep old addresses. For Sharjah, that is the federal Ministry of Justice, at moj.gov.ae.
- Choose by region Sharjah city, the central region and the east coast may each have their own office. Pick the office for the region you can reach most easily.
- Check the service Confirm the office handles your kind of act, since not every counter does every one.
- Check the timings Look at the hours for your chosen day, and look again if it is a Friday or a Ramadan day.
- Check the booking rule Some offices take walk-ins, others need an appointment.
Sharjah notary public timings
Official hours change, and a wrong time sends people to a closed counter. Read the hours on the official page on the day you go, and if a phone number is given there, use it to confirm.
Sharjah courts notary public or a private notary?
The Sharjah courts notary public is the government route. Private notaries also exist under UAE federal law, as persons listed in the competent department's register. Whether private notary offices operate in Sharjah, and where, should be confirmed on the official register before you rely on one.
Fees follow the system the office works under. On the federal schedule (Cabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024), a power of attorney is AED 100 per party, signature authentication on an instrument of unspecified value AED 200 per party, and an affidavit AED 300. A private notary on the federal schedule adds up to 30 percent as professional fees. Confirm the fee for your document with the Sharjah office.

How we help Sharjah residents
We prepare the document in Arabic and English, coordinate the legal translation, and give you a checklist for the Sharjah office. If signing in Dubai suits you better, you sign before our in-house notary public in Business Bay instead.
Preparation starts from AED 1,500 for a power of attorney, AED 600 for an affidavit or declaration, and AED 900 for signature witnessing. All service prices are starting prices and are negotiable. Government fees are paid on top, at cost, exactly as the authority charges them. We confirm your final price before you pay.
How do I find the nearest notary office in Sharjah?
Use the official Sharjah courts website and choose the office for your region: the city, the central region or the east coast. Check its services and hours there before you go.
What are the notary public office timings in Sharjah?
They are set by the authority and can change, so check the official page on the day. Friday and Ramadan hours may differ.
Can I use a Dubai notarised document in Sharjah?
Often yes, but ask the Sharjah office that will receive it first. Some authorities prefer a local notarisation.
Do you have an office in Sharjah?
We do not. Sharjah residents are served remotely from our single office in Business Bay, Dubai.
Are notary services in Sharjah available online?
The Ministry of Justice runs an E-Notary System for the federal system. Whether it covers your Sharjah document depends on the document and the office. Sharjah is on the federal system, so the E-Notary System is the federal remote route that applies there.
