Notary public for Dubai Marina, JBR and JLT
For a notary public in Dubai Marina, the listed Dubai Courts points nearest to you are the two in Al Barsha: the Al Barsha Mall centre and the centre in the Traffic Department building. Private notary offices are the other official route, and a private notary can also come to your home or office. Neither the Marina, JBR nor JLT has a centre on the archived Dubai Courts list.

Al Barsha or a private notary?

A private notary is often the easier choice for Marina residents, for two reasons: the appointment time, and the option of a visit. Private notaries in Dubai may act outside their office, and the Dubai Courts fee decision sets AED 1,000 per trip for that, on top of the usual AED 100 per party registration and AED 100 per signature. For a family with young children or a tower office with several signers, one visit can be simpler than a trip to Al Barsha.
JLT companies and the free zone question
Jumeirah Lakes Towers is home to many companies registered in a free zone. When a JLT company needs a resolution, a power of attorney or a signature authenticated, two things decide where it goes:
- Who will read it. A mainland bank or a Dubai authority usually wants a Dubai notarisation. A free zone authority may have its own rules on which notarisation it accepts, or may take board resolutions in its own format.
- Where it is going next. A document for a bank or partner abroad normally needs MOFAIC attestation, then the destination embassy's stamp.
Ask the free zone first, then book the notary. We can check the requirement for you before drafting.
The DIFC is a different case. Its courts run their own notary service for DIFC matters, and a JLT company is not a DIFC company. Do not use the DIFC notary for a JLT document unless the receiving office asks for it.
Marina residents and documents for abroad
Many Marina residents own or rent flats while keeping family, property or business in another country. That produces a mix of documents in both directions:
- a power of attorney so someone in Dubai can deal with the Marina flat while the owner is away,
- a declaration or affidavit for an authority, bank or pension provider back home,
- a child travel consent letter for a holiday with one parent.
For anything going abroad, there is no apostille shortcut (the UAE has not signed up to that convention and is not a party to it). A document notarised in Dubai is attested by MOFAIC and then by the destination country's embassy, in that order; see notary or attestation.
